A Look Into Our
Learning Environment..
Beehive Kindy is a family owned and operated child care centre on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula.
Our welcoming and homely centre has been operating for over 18 years.
We are very proud to have passionate and long term educators who understand the importance of shaping children's development, by building trusting and secure relationships with families also.
As educators at Beehive, it is one of our most important roles to help each child reach their potential. What we do now contributes to their future success and happiness, by providing children with a sense of belonging, we are shaping who they can become and fostering their well-being and learning.
We like to see everything in our surrounding as a learning experience and make sure that children are feeling safe, secure and supported within our environment.
Beehive Kindy offers an approved Kindergarten program, that follows the
Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG).
Beehive has two large classrooms which are all fully air-conditioned and two large outdoor play areas.
Our outdoor spaces have recently undergone renovations to create a more natural and innovative play setting for the children. We have installed a dolphin mist fountain, garden beds for planting, a cubby house, replica road tracks and both mixed spaces of soft fall, sand, bark and grass areas.
Our outdoor learning environment gives the children the opportunity to learn and participate in many educational learning experiences, in a comfortable and safe home-like setting.

An experienced and qualified team of educators provide a balanced curriculum based on the children’s interests, parent input and community events, which is guided by the 'Early Years Learning Framework'. Our centre also provides meals (Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea) and we are able to accommodate to your child's individual taste if necessary. We also have our 'Government Approved Kindergarten Program' delivered by our qualified early childhood educator and Bachelor qualified teacher, Miss Jo. Our kindergarten program offers early childhood education (EYLF), as well as the Kindergarten curriculum to help build school readiness. By enrolling your child into our programs, this will allow them to take part in play-based learning experiences, expand their physical abilities, build their confidence and enhance their social skills.
Beehive Kindy Service Philosophy
Beehive Kindy was formed on the lands of the Gubbi Gubbi people. We acknowledge Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this country and their connection to the land, water and community in which we operate. We pay our respect to the Elders, their cultures and customs, both past, present and emerging.
Our centre is small and family owned. We believe the children who attend our centre thrive through quality and personalised care. We strive to create a “homely” environment for all people who walk through our door.
We believe children learn best in a nurturing, environment that fosters self-confidence, autonomy, and acceptance of individual differences. Our Educators establish positive personal interactions, nurturing each child’s growth and education.
At Beehive, we believe the early years are an important and magical part a child’s total life experience. Our Educators believe that play is a child’s work and that children learn through their play. In our day-to-day operations this translates into providing a curriculum that is emergent, developmentally appropriate and child-centered, which will further develop habits of observation, questioning, listening and decision making in our children.
At Beehive Kindy we will ensure all children have an equal opportunity to learn. All children will be respected and not discriminated against, no matter what gender, age, ability, economic status, family structure, ethnicity, lifestyle, religion, culture or language. We will educate children about differences between children, families and communities and help to promote positive self-esteem in all children. We will ensure families with additional needs are included and will offer any support, guidance and assistance needed.
At Beehive Kindy we believe in providing children with a regular routine, where they will be given adequate time for meals and rest. We will provide experiences which will give each child the opportunity to explore music and movement, language, science and art.
Our service recognizes that parents are the first educators of children.
Each family knows their child best, which is why our Educators strive to work in partnerships with parents. We believe these partnerships are developed through mutual respect, discussion, parental feedback, newsletters, meetings and our notice boards. In addition, Beehive Kindy’s open-door policy aims to facilitate an open flow of communication, by encouraging families to join in on our learning activities and celebrate events and special days with us.
Furthermore, our vision acknowledges the critical role that the larger community play’s in raising children.
Therefore, in our work, we are committed to continuous engagement within the local community, to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children.
